    It is a whole different ball game when other people are depending on you to get a project done. For this aspect alone it is so much easier working alone. No one has to depend on me. BUT I rose to the occasion and got the work done so that all could view and make their comments so that changes could be made.
    There is though one change that I made but the wrong file got posted. Due to technical issues I did not know it was the wrong video and everyone in my group had already turned in all their stuff for the class. I admitted the problem but it was so minor they were all fine with it. Whew, I thought.

    I learned that I still need to work on time management. I started off good then ran into non existent internet which threw me off. I did not have the time management skills to get caught back up. I always thought I could juggle lots of things. I was just not able to juggle all that is going on and whatever is in my face gets done first, family, work, school (in that order).

    Our group did well at working well together. There were some slow periods when we were waiting on others to meet. We had originally put the sequence of our PSA in a Google slide show. That was too hard to edit all together at one time. When we began to use the Google spreadsheet, which allows for editors to edit real time and chat also on the same page as the document, our work moved along a lot easier. It was great to see how everyone was changing the document by the colors they were assigned.

    I did not achieve the outcome of finding new and innovative ways to use the new web 2.0 multimedia and web sites. You tube etc…has been around and I know there are some other sites out there for editing video and with using multimedia.

    In a previous course I learned a lot about copyright. I think of copyright as a bibliography or works sited. I have never heard of this being called copyright attribution. I now know what it is. When you use some elses photos, video, music, or work in the public domain it is necessary to attribute the work with their name. This is necessary to protect their creativity and to give thme credit. I have done this before but I have never called it "copyright attribute".
    Time management is obviously my worst attribute about myself. I did not achieve all the article reading I wanted to do. Technical difficulties and time management prevented me from accomplishing this goal. Due to our move our printer is no longer networked and would not hook directly with my Mac so I had to use my work laptop. Well, this booger is slow and enjoys locking up whenever it wants to and it is brand new. I can't turn it in to have it worked on because I need it right now and the tech department would have it in the shop for weeks. So, I had to deal with technical issues all throughout this course. Also, slow internet connectivity added to my frustration. It is very difficult for anyone to do online coursework if they do not have high speed access to the internet.
    Other than my own time management and my computer issues I had not other issues with this course. At first it was difficult to accept working in a team. As I worked with my team it became easier and easier. I also learned how great google docs can really be. I had already used the docs but this time I had a real purpose to collaborate and it was wonderful.

    I was eventually successful in completing the course assignments. Even though I had downloaded all assignments onto a flash drive before I left work for the summer I stiff did not get all my work done before hand like I wished to do. I am getting better. Due to the lack of an internet connection the first week and a half of the course I, once again, got a little behind. I had to depend on public wifi, which is not always reliable, to download articles and submit assignments. Then we did finally get the internet, yet is is very slow. Through adversity we grow and learn how to overcome and not give up.

    Another discouragement, that I conquered, was this laptop I have to use. It does not have enough RAM to run Adobe Premier successfully. When the computer was tasked too much it locked up or shut down completely. I learned to save my projects after every little change. I did forget at time and then suffered the consequences. It took me hours upon hours to complete my video editing due to waiting for loading. Even changing the volume on the computer made the computer wait almost half a minute to a minute or even locked it up. I stopped adjusting the volume after awhile. Toggling from application to application was not liked by the computer also. I guess it can be said I do not like this computer.

    As stated earlier my technology was not so great. I really hope we get new laptops for work next year. My Mac (my main coursework computer) is an awesome computer but I ran into with video editing problems and did not download or could not find the correct conversion tool for the video clips I was using. I also ran out of time to search for such tools. I did not think to ask my all knowing husband who is a tech director. It is so funny how he does a great job with getting the technology running for work but when it comes to our house he is a little slower. Our printer is still not working at our house since our move.
    I came into the course with an "I know it" attitude. I did know a good amount but still not enough about all the video formats and editing techniques the professionals use.

    I was eventually successful in completing the course assignments. Even though I had downloaded all assignments onto a flash drive before I left work for the summer I stiff did not get all my work done before hand like I wished to do. I am getting better. Due to the lack of an internet connection the first week and a half of the course I, once again, got a little behind. I had to depend on public wifi, which is not always reliable, to download articles and submit assignments. Then we did finally get the internet, yet is is very slow. Through adversity we grow and learn how to overcome and not give up.
    I was espciallysusuccessful with the PSA assignment. The group was an interesting mix of many talents that came together well. Melanie recorded a shark from her Nokia camera. She called it a mask. We saw it and thought it was a great addition to the video. In pre-production we edited the script and decided on the shots we wanted to use. Using the Google Presentation was hard to follow so I moved the shots and descriptions over the Google Spreadsheet. The group thought this was a good move and the ability for us all to edit and chat on the same was very convenient for us to work together. We divided the responsibilities by what we are good at. Everyone had a talent to bring to the group. In the Production stage, Melanie recorded the shark segments, Erin recorded the red surfer, Kathy recorded voice over and introduction and I did the video editing. We then decided on music. It was difficult to edit video when not all the clips were there for the changes to the production document were changed. We were missing clips that were newly added shots. It was also difficult for me to match the voice with some shots, the narration was changed but the actual audio was not added till later. We met again to revise and move clips. This was our post-production phase. For distribution the PSA was posted on YouTube and to the wiki. It was also shared with the class through the discussion board.
    Another discouragement, that I conquered, was this laptop I have to use. It does not have enough RAM to run Adobe Premier successfully.     6. How our group worked to gether to creat our PSA and how can our PSA be improved.

    I envisioned learning how to edit video and creating media for the web. I also thought we would explore online web 2.0 media creation sites. That would be a very interesting assignment to assign. Student would search the web for their most interesting web 2.0 multimedia or video creation site and then make a blog entry about it. That could be a standing assignment for each week of the course.

    The assignments that I have done for the course are definitely relevant to what I do in my work. I am an Instructional Technology Specialist for my district and as a result I have to teach teachers how to edit and create video and also do it for them if they don’t feel that they can or have run out fo time. We also make videos for tutorials and as commercials for our staff development days. It is so important to keep videos short, interesting and to the point (sit).
